The PNV starts the election race against Sabin Etxea; EH Bildu will do it at the Arenal in Bilbao; the PSE-EE on the esplanade of the Maritime Museum and Sumar in a hotel in Santurtzi. The PP, on the other hand, will start the campaign in San Sebastían.
Most of the political formations of the Basque Autonomous Community have chosen Bizkaia to launch the campaign of the general elections, which will once again lead citizens to the polls on 23 July. Only the PP has chosen a different location, Donostia-San Sebastián, to start the 15 days in which the parties will spread their political proposals.
For their part, the Navarrese parties, with 12 candidates for Congress and 10 for the Senate, are facing opening ceremonies brought forward to this Thursday, a atypical campaignconditioned by the celebration of the sanfermines in Pamplona, by the festivals of some other cities and in general by the summer holidays throughout the territory.
As usual, the PNV kicks off the campaign in Bilbao. Outside the headquarters in the capital of Biscay, sabin etxeaat 9 p.m., will hold a political act in front of his militants and supporters.
The president of the party, Andoni Ortuzar, the spokesperson for the Basque Group and head of the list for Congress for Bizkaia, Aitor Esteban, the head of the list for the House of Commons for Gipuzkoa, Maribel Vaquero, and the head of the list for the congress for Álava, Mikel Legarda will star in the campaign’s first official act.
Also in Bilbao, in the naja, EH Bildu will open the campaign, in the presence of the general coordinator, Arnaldo Otegi. He will be joined by Congressional candidates for the Sovereignist Coalition Oskar Matute and Mertxe Aizpurua, in an act that begins at 8:15 p.m.
The Basque socialists have chosen the esplanade of the Maritime Museum from the capital of Biscay to start the election campaign at 6.30 pm, in an act in which the PSE-EE general secretary, Eneko Andueza, will participate. He will be accompanied by the heads of the list to the Congress of Deputies for Bizkaia, Patxi López, Gipuzkoa, Rafaela Romero and Álava, Daniel Senderos.
Sumar has chosen the city of Vizcaya Santurtzi to celebrate the start of the campaign. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Hotel Palacio de Oriol, Lander Martínez, the head of the congress list for training in Bizkaia, Pilar Garrido for Gipuzkoa and Guillermo Presa for Álava.
The popular Basques have chosen Donostia-San Sebastián as their stage, where at 6 p.m. terrace of Hotel Calatonia, the general secretary of the formation, Carlos Iturgaiz, will participate in the first rally of the campaign. Together with him, the heads of the list of the Congress of Deputies for Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa respectively, Javier de Andrés, Beatriz Álvarez Fanjul and Joana Arce will speak.
In Navarre, five deputies and four other senators are at stake (the fifth senator, the regional one, will be elected by parliament as a representative of the Community), and the main uncertainty is what representation they will receive separate UPN and PPformations that have always been in the same candidacy in the elections for the Cortes Generales, so their campaigns are now focused on demarcating their territory.
Behind that historic break is the dissection of Navarra Sumthe coalition that protected UPN, Ciudadanos and PP four years ago, and which, according to allegations between UPN and PP, was unilaterally dissolved with a Ciudadanos on the verge of disappearing at the state level.
Now the Navarreans can choose 12 candidatures for Congress, those of UPN, PP, PSN, Sumar, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai, Vox, Animalist Party with the Environment (PACMA), Zero Cuts, Workers Front, Workers’ Communist Party of Spain and for a fairer world.
10 lists are submitted to the Senate, those of UPN, PP, PSN, Sumar, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai, Animalist Party with the Environment (PACMA), Zero Cuts, Communist Party of Workers of Spain and For a Fairer World (Vox and the Workers’ Front do not present themselves to the Senate, but to Congress).
They all officially start the election campaign at 00:00 on Friday, although most parties have already put forward that this first week in Pamplona they will keep their acts to a minimum campaign campaign, to replace them with statements and other types of information that do not compromise schedules or attendance.
