The Tyrolean head of state Anton Mattle is the antithesis of the federal ÖVP. He strongly rejects the FPÖ. He offers politics for the middle rather than normal thinkers. It drives electrically instead of combustion engines.
The Tyrolean governor Anton Mattle is too serious in his attitude for the title “Alpine Rebel”. But his political views do not match those of ÖVP leader Karl Nehammer. The Freedom Party is not a coalition partner for Mattle – with or without Herbert Kickl at the top. Because the blue party program also applies to the governor of Tyrol. A federal ÖVP is not concerned with this kind of finesse. In the summer interview with ‘Krone’, he also hopes that a climate law will be introduced before the end of this legislature. Not exactly a priority for his party either.
