In the interview with krone.tv, IFDD researcher and political insider Christoph Haselmayer provides an insight into his confidential conversations, which he often conducts offstage behind the scenes: “Many SPÖ insiders criticize Andreas Babler very strongly. The party’s behavior still not as a whole.”
The krone.tv interview was prompted by the latest IFDD survey, which he conducted on behalf of NÖN on the so-called ‘Sunday question’ – with the following result: if there were national elections next Sunday, the FPÖ would receive 27 percent of the votes First place, followed by the ÖVP with 24 percent, third place would be the SPÖ with 23 percent.
At 12 percent, the Greens came out on top for a long time – and for a sad reason: “The Greens are helped by the many natural disasters in the summer. Heat, torrential rain, flooding, mudslides, all add to the Greens.” In the case of the NEOS, on the other hand, it would look less pleasant with 8 percent of the vote: “The NEOS are struggling and for many they are neither fish nor meat,” Haselmayer said, looking at his current data.
The surveys on the “summer topics” are also interesting: “The normal debate was pointless. Johanna Mikl-Leitner, who initiated the issue, was leaning on the wrong horse. People are not interested in that”, the pollster analyses. It was also interesting in the IFDD survey that the respondents in smaller communities “ATMs are more important than taverns.”
