The former president of the Generalitat and Junts MEP, Carles Puigdemont, called for mobilization this Sunday in Plaza Cataluña in Barcelona “to defend that victory”, referring to the sixth anniversary of the 1-O 2017 referendum.
In a message on the social network
“There are people who want us to forget it, let it pass and turn the page. This is not our case, nor that of many of you,” he added.
For his part, the president of ERC, Oriol Junquerashas defended that self-determination and democracy are the “only path” that the ERC proposes for the future of Catalonia.
He has assured that the amnesty “is not and will not be the final point of the liberation process” of Catalonia, but rather an instrument on the way to being able to democratically decide on the future of the territory.
According to him, the amnesty is “an essential step to be able to discuss on an equal footing with the government about the path he believes they still have to achieve the independence of Catalonia.
