The time as Vice-Chancellor is a thing of the past. Former FPÖ leader Heinz-Christian Strache has sworn off politics. Instead, the former Blue frontman is now advertising solar systems. Former Viennese party leader Johann Gudenus is also committed to sustainability. Meanwhile, ORF presenter Martin Thür jokes on X: “Ibiza has turned you into the Greens.”
“Now -15 percent discount on our high-quality PV systems without a long waiting time. We deliver and install throughout Austria,” Strache posts the snapper offer on his social media channels. He promotes photovoltaic systems from a company from Linz.
“Fast, clean, reliable!”
In another post on Facebook, Strache also stated that the seller was one of his “partners.” “I can tell you from experience that they work quickly, cleanly and reliably,” Strache continues.
But apparently it wasn’t just Strache’s green streak that woke up. Former Viennese party leader Johann Gudenus, who, like Strache, stumbled over the Ibiza affair, is also campaigning on environmental issues – or at least when it comes to energy costs: anyone wanting to switch because of high electricity and gas bills should get in touch with Gudenus you can do that. Save up to 40 percent, it says on its Instagram channel.
“Ibiza turned them into Greens”
There are some malicious comments about the campaign online. A user asks: “Heinz-Christian Strache, will you visit there personally?” “For a little bit of money, of course,” answers another. ORF presenter Martin Thür summarized the ambitions of Strache and Gudenus: “Ibiza has turned them into Greens.”
