PSE-EE general secretary Eneko Andueza has assured that the Socialists have “always” shown their “unambiguous political will” to transfer pending powers and comply with the Gernika Statute in its entirety.
In an interview on Radio Euskadi, the socialist politician, when asked about the Investiture pact of the PSOE with the PNVwho have done this with the “will” to fulfill it, although they have admitted that the two-year horizon carrying out all transfers is a deadline that “sometimes cannot be met” because during the process “there are difficulties” in obtaining the necessary “legal guarantee”.
“Having the Socialists govern in Spain is good for Euskadi,” he stressed, before adding that the Socialists are the ones who “have given the most transfers to Euskadi.”
Regarding the wave of protests taking place as a result of the amnesty law that the PSOE agreed with the Junts, he denounced that the PP plays with ‘irresponsibility’ and that he places himself next to ‘those who praise Franco’.
Andueza believes that it is common within the PP that when the country does not get what it wants “a tantrum ensues”, but that in this case it seems to be “that it does not like democracy”, that “it doubt.” “.
In this sense, he reminded the popular party that they have the support of 179 out of 350 deputies, which is 1.5 million votes more than those represented by the right.
As for the criticism from historical members of the party, such as Felipe González or Alfonso Guerra, has assured that they are statements that “seek prominence” and that they are “very far from what the initials of the PSOE represent.” “I missed them during the campaign. I didn’t see or hear them at a time when so much was at stake. I didn’t see them when the PP joined Vox to form governments,” he added.
Finally he made one “positive” assessment by the legislator in the Basque government, and considers it “very difficult” for any other party to join the PNV and the PSE-EE in approving the budgets, because it understands that the opposition is looking for its “pre-electoral space”.
