2024 will be an exciting year for the armed forces. 850 new trucks, new equipment, new aircraft and new missile defenses. The record budget for the Federal Army in 2024 makes this possible. But a lot could also change for Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner next year.
Because everyone is looking forward to the National Council elections in 2024, but who will lead the ÖVP state list in Lower Austria is currently unclear. One thing is certain: National Council President Wolfgang Sobotka will no longer be in first place.
Now the choice is between Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner and Interior Minister Gerhard Karner. Tanner himself said in an interview: “There is no doubt that I am interested in running. The party leadership in Lower Austria will decide on this in due course.”
It remains exciting to see who will lead the ÖVP list in Lower Austria in the big election year of 2024.
