The Austrian Armed Forces must invest in every area, Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner (ÖVP) explains in the krone.tv speech. Whether it concerns the barracks, the expansion on the road and in the air, but also the equipment for the soldiers, we will be upgrading next year.
Investments are being made in the federal army and by 2027 the army will have 18.1 billion euros at its disposal. But what does the minister want from Austrian politics? “That we simply work together much more.”
What unites should be focused on instead of what divides, says Tanner, who summarizes it succinctly: “Arm the federal army, disarm with words.”
“Nehammer in front”
In the super election year of 2024, Tanner sees “of course our Chancellor Karl Nehammer” coming to the fore. “That should be the goal for all of us.”
