Orban “wanted dead” – Message by ORF manager: Hungary demands clarification

Date:

The tacky posting of ORF-Online director Karl Pachner has an aftermath. He wrote on Facebook on Wednesday evening that a heart attack by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was “a fair thing”. Hungary has therefore ordered Austrian ambassador Alexander Grubmayr for Friday morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to a broadcast by the Hungarian Foreign Ministry on Thursday evening, Pachner wished “Orban’s death”. This “crude, deeply shocking scandalous statement” is demanded an explanation from the Austrian ambassador.

The apology that the ORF manager followed his posting on Thursday, which has since been deleted, was apparently not enough. Pachner wrote on Facebook that he had chosen “ill-considered and ambiguous wording” late at night. Of course he wished death for Orban and no one else. He deeply regrets his placement, Pachner said.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Posts “completely unacceptable”
The Austrian Foreign Ministry said the post, which has since been deleted, was “undoubtedly tasteless and completely unacceptable”. However, it is a private Facebook account that has no connection to official Austria.” The deputy ambassador will attend the meeting at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry on Friday morning.
