“These are results that you can be really happy with,” said state spokesman Bernhard Schmidt after the municipal elections in February. After the MFG’s surprising electoral success in Upper Austria last September, he was setting up structures in Tyrol. Schmidt was once – like many MFG officials – with the FPÖ.
