Board head rolls – rebellion at MFG Tirol ended with evictions

Date:

Less than four months ago, the skies were full of violins for the Tyrolean MFG: the party critical of vaccination and measures (“People, Freedom, Fundamental Rights”) won 47 municipal councils and 64 seats. In Kufstein, the list even became the third strongest force. Meanwhile, however, there is a huge crack in the beams!

“These are results that you can be really happy with,” said state spokesman Bernhard Schmidt after the municipal elections in February. After the MFG’s surprising electoral success in Upper Austria last September, he was setting up structures in Tyrol. Schmidt was once – like many MFG officials – with the FPÖ. Since leaving the Innsbruck parliamentary faction about a year ago, Schmidt has been a “wild deputy” on the Innsbruck City Council.

Who stands up for MFG in state elections?
It is doubtful whether he will go to the Tyrolean state elections as a top candidate of the MFG. He faces calls for his resignation because of his “dictatorial management style”. “Bernhard Schmidt can no longer be tolerated as a state spokesperson, nor is it possible for him to run for office at the state or federal level without democratic legitimacy,” said a letter sent Friday to the federal board of directors of the United Nations. MFG has been sent.

In a clash with the state administration
It was written and signed by MFG’s regional board of directors in Tyrol – probably without the boss’s knowledge. Schmidt is not the only “problem” that parts of the Tyrolean state organization have identified: “Confidence in the national administration of MFG has been deeply shaken. Unfortunately, the behavior of the federal administration has not helped to restore this confidence, not even to to a certain extent,” it says, referring to the expulsion of Alexander Todor-Kostic, i.e. the Carinthian boss of the MFG, which also resulted in a significant loss of members.

Federal party with right of access
“We demand an immediate reform of the federal party’s statutes. It is no longer acceptable that any federal level of any kind should still have the right and ability to arbitrarily and at will appoint or remove people from office at the level of the Tyrolean state and districts and without to rule out legal proceedings.

The MFG Tirol must be a legally and financially fully independent, independent, autonomous state organization with its own statutes, structures and membership fees and all powers. The list of demands includes six points, and it is hoped that there will be “a positive answer” by June 10.

Schmidt made a “tabula rasa”
However, this no longer reaches the original sender. Because state spokesman Schmidt (“I’m not nervous at all”) immediately reacted brutally and simply replaced the board. Aside from him, only Deputy Christian Ortner remained. The uprising must have been crushed overnight as the old administration is still laughing on the official website.

The party has 3000 members in Tyrol. Two city councilors (Götzens and Wattens) have so far turned their backs on the group. “I remain state spokesman,” emphasizes Schmidt!
