The leader of EH Bildu in the Basque Parliament, Otxandiano hair, has announced that he will take the initiative and call the PNV lehendakari candidate, Imanol Pradales, to “formally” ask him for an interview. He will also ask for a meeting with the PSE-EE and confederal left before a new Basque government is formed.

In an interview for the program “Boulevard” on Radio Euskadi, Otxandiano regretted that three weeks after the elections to the Basque Parliament, the PNV’s candidate for lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, has still not called him, a fact he described as “unheard of ‘ and ‘inconceivable’.

At the moment, he analyzed, there are “private, exclusive and exclusive talks between two political forces (PNV and PSE-EE), absolutely legitimate” that could give rise to a new government. According to him, the government program that will emerge from these negotiations will have many ‘mortgages’ and ‘closed doors’.

In this sense, Otxandiano has called on the PNV, the PSE-EE and the confederal left to establish a dialogue ‘now’, before the formation of a government.

Pello Otxandiano has assured that “what is not worth forming a government” and then “almost demands that the opposition” adopt that government program. “The time for cooperation is now, and we have the opportunity to do so,” he reiterated.

On the other hand, Otxandiano has not made it clear whether he will present himself to the investment. Thus, he has stated that based on these conversations with the rest of the political forces, he will consider the possibility of submitting his candidacy.

Finally, he welcomed the statements of the President of the Basque Parliament, Bakartxo Tejeria, on the need to modernize self-government. Otxandiano believes that in the next parliamentary term the issue of political status: on the one hand because there is “a nationalist majority” in the Basque parliament; On the other hand, because for the first time a president of the Spanish government has shown himself willing to open the debate on plurinationality in the state.
