The meeting will take place this Monday afternoon. Urkullu has met the king twice. In this way, the hearing will mark the third meeting of the king with leaders of the CAV since its proclamation.
King Felipe VI will receive the Lehendakari in audience on Monday, Imanol Pradalesthe second president of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV) to see the monarch at the Zarzuela Palace.
The meeting will take place this Monday afternoon, two weeks after Pradales was sworn in as the sixth Lehendakari of the democracy during a solemn ceremony held before the Gernika tree and attended by, among others, the Lehendakari, his predecessor, Iñigo Urkullu, who has met the king twice.
Urkullu was received by Felipe VI in 2014 during a round of interviews with regional presidents in La Zarzuela that he held that same year, when he was proclaimed King of Spain.
And in 2020, another meeting took place after Urkullu’s victory in the July 12 elections, an event in which both greeted each other warmly, but without shaking hands due to the health measures imposed at the time by the pandemic.
In this way, the hearing will mark the King’s third meeting with CAV leaders since its proclamation.
