Apparently Donald Trump hasn’t noticed that Taylor Swift doesn’t think much of him. Now he’s even trying to get votes with a fake photo of the singer…
The ex-president shared a fake poster on his online service Truth Social on Sunday (local time), among other things, in which the singer calls on her followers to vote for Trump. There has been no statement yet from Swift or the people around her.
Fake images created with AI
A post by the Republican candidate on Truth Social on Sunday showed Swift dressed in red, white and blue with the caption, “Taylor Swift wants you to vote for Donald Trump.” “I accept!” Trump wrote. Other clearly manipulated images showed women wearing T-shirts reading “Swifties for Trump.”
This Twitter user is already calling on Taylor Swift to sue Donald Trump:
Experts say some of the images were created using artificial intelligence (AI). The singer’s poster was “AI-generated or simply classically manipulated,” Hany Farid, a digital forensics expert at the University of California, told AFP. Trump’s post was “particularly sneaky” because at least one of the fan photos looked real, he added.
Trump repeatedly criticized and campaigned for Biden
Swift herself has yet to publicly endorse Donald Trump or Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. However, she has repeatedly criticized Trump in the past, and before the 2020 presidential election, she campaigned for current US President Joe Biden. She also supports abortion rights and LGBTQ rights, where the English abbreviation LGBTQ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer.
Harris will be formally nominated as the 2024 candidate this week at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Swift also criticized Trump in a 2020 documentary. While the singer has yet to make a public statement, tens of thousands of her fans have already spoken out in support of the Democratic nominee. The “Swifties for Kamala” page has tens of thousands of subscribers on online services including X (formerly Twitter), Facebook and Instagram. Similar pages exist under the “Swifties for Trump” name – albeit with significantly lower numbers of followers.
