The poster series ‘The Voice of Austria’ – a wake-up call for politicians – is currently causing a stir. What the “Krone” community thinks about this and what it has to contribute, you can read here:
Giving the Austrians a strong voice is the stated aim of the ‘Krone’ initiative and that is why we have summarised some highlights from numerous comments and submissions for you.
Important contribution for the future
“Since all politicians in the country clearly have no common sense, this is a very important contribution to the future of the state and its citizens,” says gawokewordtbroke. Many readers are demanding that politicians finally start ‘working for the people and their concerns’, just like the readers Blue Sea.
The “crown” will not sit in parliament
There are also some readers who like it Triskele point out that there will be no media in Parliament: “Here the voter really has to ask himself which party is most likely to represent what is really important to the citizen.”
Objectivity and less populism
On this point too, all readers agree: there will be a change from populism to more objectivity and “ethical, economic and other rational arguments”, such as these modern times formulated, required. “Because the ruling parties have not been able to do their job for years. “Politics is primarily made for companies and institutions,” is the sobering judgment austrocrats.
Housing and distributive justice
Many readers would like to see a fairer distribution of resources. “Less than 5% of the richest in Austria have seized more than 50% of the net total assets,” writes a Real SteirerHigh rents are also being challenged, because when many people have to spend “50% of their wages” or more on housing, something has to change.
The country needs solutions
It is clear that the past years and the developments on the Austrian political scene have not left the population unscathed. People want solutions to existing problems, but do not expect much from politicians. “More direct democracy is just as necessary as holding politicians accountable,” says one example Contemporary Witness 2020 and thus speaks from the souls of many.
