The Senate table, controlled by the PP, has summoned the Minister of Finance to an extraordinary plenary session where she will report on the agreement between the PSC and the ERC.
The First Vice President of the Government of Spain and Minister of Finance, Mary Jesus Monterowill appear in an emergency plenary session in the Senate to explain the unique financing for Catalonia, as approved by the Upper House, where the PP has a majority. The Permanent Deputation of Congress rejected that same request.
Montero will have to answer to the Senate plenary session next Wednesday, September 4, about the agreement between PSC and ERC on the inauguration of Salvador Illa, which means that Catalonia will collect and manage all its taxes.
According to the minister, this agreement is not about an economic agreement, but about unique financing for Catalonia, words that did not go down well within the ERC and they warned that they also need their support for the General State Budgets (GGE).
“The appearance of Minister Montero is urgent, given the absolute misinformation of the government and the silence between the executive and the ERC, after their shameful agreement. The Spanish must know transparently what has been negotiated and agreed between the PSOE and the ERC,” declared the PP.
