Three of them were sentenced to fines and damages for resisting the authorities, and the fourth to a six-month prison sentence and disqualification for a crime of public disorder.
The Bizkaia court has quashed the convictions of four people who participated in a protest in Bilbao in support of the sovereignty process in Catalonia.
In October 2019 These four people took part in a sit-in that cut off an access road to the capital of Biscay, during which three of them, according to the verdict, insulted and attacked the Ertzainas who removed them from the street, and the fourth later took part in the overturning of eight containers to prevent passage to the Ertzaintza.
Last April, the Bizkaia Court sentenced the first three for resisting authority and minor injuries to fines and compensation to the injured ertzainas, and the fourth for a crime of public disorder to six months in prison and a special disqualification for the right to passive suffrage during World War II. at the time of the sentence.
Now the same court has declared that “the criminal liability resulting from the application of the amnesty, as well as the civil liability arising from the crimes for which amnesty was granted, has been extinguished.”
This Monday’s decision is not final and can be appealed within three days.
