Sumar’s spokesperson and deputy, who was also one of the founders of Podemos, has resigned from all his positions.
Sumar’s spokesperson in Congress, Inigo Errejonhas announced his resignation, the resignation of his seat and his decision to give up institutional politics, after years of physical and mental “wear and tear” and after having reached “the limit of the contradiction between the character and the person”, according to which he put forward in a letter on social network X.
Errejón has reported that, after a period of months of reflection, which has intensified in recent weeks, he has finally made the decision to resign as Sumar’s spokesman, leave his seat in Congress and give up all his political responsibilities .
“On the front lines of politics and the media, you survive and are more effective, at least that has been my case, with a way of behaving that is often emancipated from care, empathy and the needs of others. This generates a toxic subjectivity that in the case of men, patriarchy multiplies, with colleagues, with colleagues in the organization, with emotional relationships and even with themselves,” he explained.
The one who was also one of the founders of Podemos has detailed that he has been in a “personal process” and “psychological guidance” for some time, which requires him to stop and take care of himself.
