During his two-day official trip (Tuesday and Wednesday) to Luxembourg and Brussels, the Lehendakari will hold meetings with representatives of European institutions such as the President of the European Investment Bank, Nadia Calviño, or the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
The Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, will travel to Luxembourg and Brussels this Tuesday and Wednesday to defend in the European institutions the creation of the Atlantic Arc Macroregion, the official status of the Basque Country and the role of Euskadi as a key figure in the industrial sector. This is Pradales’ first international trip as a Lehendakari.
According to Lehendakari’s official agenda, on Tuesday Pradales will meet in Luxembourg with the President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Nadia Calvinoand later he will hold a meeting with the Basque community in Belgium in Brussels.
He Wednesday A meeting is planned with officials from the European Policy Center think tank and later in the European Parliamenthe will meet with Basque MEPs Oihane Agirregoitia of the PNV, Idoia Mendia of the PSE and Javier Zarzalejos of the PP.
The agenda also includes contacts that day with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsolaand the Vice President of the Legislature, Younous Omarjeewith the President of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, and with that of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Salvador Illa.
The last act of official trip will also take place in Brussels, where Pradales will speak at the forum “Power Regions of European Summit”, in which representatives of more than 70 regions will participate and in which he will defend measures to increase their management role in the industrial sector the face of the ‘ worrying’ centralizing trend of European policy.
The Lehendakari will travel accompanied by the Secretary General of the European Union and Foreign Action of the Basque Government, Ander Caballero; the general secretary of Social Transition and Agenda 2030, Ion Muñoa; Euskadi’s delegate to the EU, Marta Marín, and the Director of the European Union, Mikel Antón.
