In Lapurdi, the nationalist Ramuntxo Labat has won the elections to become the new mayor of Ahetze.
In May, Mayor Philippe Elizalde and several council members resigned and the city council has been in a situation of instability since then. The Prefect of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques called elections and after the first round of the previous weekendthe three candidates went to second.
Today this second election event took place, where the Ramuntxo Labat “Ahetzen” list received 44% of the votes and will have 14 councilors in the city council.
The second most voted list was “Ahetze Zuekin”, from Ramuntxo Goyhetche, who obtained 4 seats, and the candidate of the previous municipal government, Laetitia Guesdon-Michaud, who presented herself as head of the “Ahetze Bihotzean” list, got one representative. .
