The US Senate will coordinate Donald Trump’s controversial nominee for the Pentagon on Friday. Pete Hegseth is said to have paid a woman around €50,000 to silence her following allegations of sexual abuse (see video above).
This follows answers Hegseth gave Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren during his confirmation proceedings. The former Fox News host is accused of sexually assaulting a woman in California in 2017. He denies the allegations and claims everything was consensual.
Since announcing his nomination as US Secretary of Defense just days after Trump’s election victory in November, a number of allegations against him have come to light. These include sexual violence, abuse, racist statements and alcohol abuse. So far, Hegseth has only admitted and admitted multiple infidelities that he is not a perfect person.
Get a necessary majority
So far, Trump has determined the staff. Because of Republicans’ narrow majority in the U.S. Senate, Hegseth could already deny four different votes. However, despite new accusations, everything indicates that he will receive the necessary majority.
So far, only two Republicans in the Senate have spoken out clearly against him. One of her criticisms is also the 44-year-old’s lack of political experience. He only ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. Senate for Minnesota. As Pentagon Boss, the ex-soldier would lead one of the most important ministries in the United States.
