There is great indignation by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the regulations of US President Donald Trump for people in the Gaza Strip.
“Given the current public statements, I say … very clearly, all resettlement plans, the idea that the citizens of Gaza are being sold to Egypt or Jordan, is not acceptable” in Berlin.
The perspective must remain a solution with two states, with a peaceful coexistence of Israel and a Palestinian state. “From my point of view, this also means that it must be clear that the Palestinian Autonomy Administration also takes responsibility for Gaza,” the Chancellor added. Trump had suggested that Jordan and Egypt should absorb the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip. Both countries have strictly rejected this.
“Delicate hope for peace”
Peace could only arise if people have hope for their own home -made future. Otherwise a peace solution will not work. Scholz defended the German arms deliveries for the self -defense of Israel and praised the agreement for a ceasefire and at least partially release of the Israeli hostages via Hamas. “The delicate hope for peace that is now possible may not be played.”
