In Germany, naturalized people are supposed to lose German citizenship when they commit serious crimes. A corresponding application was accepted in the Federal Stay on Wednesday. The result of the vote was scarce: 348 MPs supported the application, 345 voted against it.
Ten other MPs have abstained. The application was supported by the right -wing populist AfD (alternative to Germany) and the conservative Union. The current SPD and Greens of the government had already criticized in advance. They fear a “crumbling of the firm wall” against the right -wing populists.
The application also requires that migrants must be rejected on the German borders. However, the application is not binding on the actions of the federal government.
