The promotion of electric vehicles and charging stations expires. Before 2024, the Ministry of Climate Protection registered a record of financing applications.
The continuation of the financing of electromobility is now the responsibility of the next federal government, explained Minister of Climate Protection Leonore Leonore Gewessler on Saturday. This must ensure that sufficient financial resources are provided for the further expansion of electric vehicles and the associated infrastructure.
Number of applications in just four years
According to the ministry, the e-mobility offensive of 2024 comes to an end with approximately 25,000 subsidized charging points and 18,000 subsidized vehicles. For comparison: in 2020 there were almost 9,000 subsidized vehicles and only a little more than 2000 charging points. In just four years the number of applications has been increased by narrowing.
In the past five years, a total of almost 160,000 financing applications for electric vehicles and charging infrastructure have been made. About 62,000 electric vehicles and 51,000 wall boxes or charging cables were financed by private individuals.
Massive increase in registrations shortly before the end
About 53,000 vehicles were financed in the operational area, including 35,000 e-cars. The switch to climate -friendly mobility is “according to the ministry at a record pace”. Especially in recent weeks, the project has led to a huge increase in registrations.
