Negotiations on a ceasefiring -fires in the Gaza strip take speed. The Israeli government and Hamas are coming to the second phase of the agreement this week, as the American special envoy Steve Witkoff reported.
He had made very “productive and constructive” calls into Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Katar bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and the Egyptian Secret Service Chief Hassan Rashad, said Witkoff. The Governments of the United States, Egypt and Qatars had the currently appropriate first phase of the cessation -the fires and an agreement on the release of hostages in the exchange against Palestinian prisoners. It has been in force since January 19 and ends on March 1.
It is currently still uncertain whether the second phase of the agreement will be borne. Israel’s head of the Benjamin Netanyahu government had threatened in Jerusalem on Sunday, and would open the “Gates to Hell” in the Gaza Strip if the hostages were not released.
Half of the hostages probably dead
The hostages who stay in the coastal area are set for 500 days. 73 people are still being held, although 36 of them no longer live. For Monday, the forum of family members of the kidnapped people called for meetings and a day of fasting to remember their fate.
Demonstration in Tel Aviv accused Netanyahu in the weekend of randomly -the fire to not spoil his right -wing extremist coalition partners and to hold on to power. The coalition partners want to continue the war in Gaza and completely destroy Hamas.
