The Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht missed the move to the German bonds. However, the hope of the new party is not yet faded – it was announced on Tuesday that Wagenknecht would move to the Federal Constitutional Court to reach a new count of votes.
A spokeswoman for BSW confirmed a corresponding report from the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” to the German news agency. The application was submitted to Karlsruhe on Tuesday, she said. Further complaints are to follow during the course of the week.
Only a few thousand voices were missing
After the provisional end result in the election of the Bundestag on 23 February, the BSW had received around 4.97 percent of the votes nationally and therefore missed the five percent obstacle for the move to parliament. Since then, the individual recovery has shown in various places that some votes have apparently been assigned incorrect. However, major shifts in the voting relationships were unknown.
Founder Sahra Wagenknecht spoke in the “FAZ” of “a few thousand BSW voices”, which apparently were incorrectly assigned to other parties or were evaluated as invalid.
“Respect for voters”
“The respect for voters requires to check and correct possible errors in detail,” said the BSW boss. This only works “if a national new count is made before the official end result is determined”.
The official end result will be announced this Friday by the Federal Election Committee. According to this, an objection can be increased and, if necessary, complained.
