Poland in sight – NATO -Baas threatens Putin with a “devastating” reaction

Date:

NATO Secretary -General Mark Rutte warned Russian President Vladimir Putin for an attack on Poland during a visit to Warsaw. The Dutchman Moscow threatened with “devastating” consequences – and early members of his alliance even more upgrade.

Anyone who thinks he can get away with an attack on Poland or another NATO country will be wrong and “will feel the full hardness of this determined alliance,” said Rutte on Wednesday during a joint appearance with Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

“Our reaction will be devastating,” added NATO boss. Putin and “everyone who wants to attack us must be clear”. “Russia is and remains the greatest and worst threat to our alliance.” Moscow is changing his economy to a “war economy”, which would have a huge impact on the skills of the Russian army. Experts expect Russia to be able to attack another European country by 2030.

In this context, Rutte welcomed the desired increase in defense expenditure in Europe and Canada. However, he agreed with US President Donald Trump that NATO countries should invest even more in their safety. The collaboration with the US remains “the cornerstone of our alliance and that won’t change,” said the Dutch.

Poland wants to be prepared for “scenarios”
Tusk also tackled the ceasefire on Wednesday about American representatives with Ukraine and Russia. “Let’s face it, our influence on these negotiations is politely expressed, limited,” said the Polish head of government. “So as NATO, as Poles, we must be prepared for scenarios that we don’t really know yet.”

Given the changing geopolitical situation, confirmation is essential for Poland “that NATO is obliged to defend Poland in every critical situation,” Tusk added.

Poland is mainly threatened by Russia with a view to the Ukraine war. Warsaw therefore wants to spend 4.7 percent of gross domestic product for national defense in the current year.
