New customs offer – The EU wants to reason Trump to reason “Deal”

Date:

The EU has offered the United States an agreement for the mutual cancellation of all rates for industrial goods. Despite the wage decisions of US President Donald Trump, the European Union is ready to negotiate, EU President Ursula von der Leyen said in Brussels.

“Europe is always ready for a good agreement. That remains,” said Von der Leyen in Norway, and added that the EU “had offered zero for zero rates for industrial goods.”

The head of the committee, however, added that the EU “was also ready to respond with countermeasures and to defend our interests”. De Leyen said that she had met important representatives of the industry throughout the Union to advise on the next steps.

Trump wants “a lot of money”
According to his consultant Kevin Hassett, US President Trump goes to the trading partners if they make good offers in customs duties. Trump will then decide whether an offer will be good enough, Hassett told Fox News on Monday.

Trump had spoken with leading politicians around the world all weekend. Trump himself said: “They come to the table. They want to talk, but there are no conversations if they don’t pay us a lot of money every year.”
