That is behind it – Putin asks for a “buffer zone along the border”

Date:

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced the establishment of a buffer zone “along the border” after a visit to the Kursk region of the SE region, which was checked for months by Ukrainian troops. The Kremlin boss remained guilty of how that should work. However, there is a political calculation behind it.

The decision about the security zone was made, Putin said during a government meeting through video selection. In the beginning he did not say exactly where the zone is going, how long it is and how deep to Ukraine it should go. “Our troops are solving this task, enemy focal points are actively suppressed, the work is underway,” he said.

Putin’s approach is seen as the current front. This approach is known in 2014 since the first raid on Ukraine and the extensive identification of Russian control over the conquered areas in the east of the Ukrainian state area. It must be assumed that the announcement of Putin could lead to a new offensive along the entire front.

Moscow now feels under control on the battlefield. Putin explained the Kursk region freely after the invasion of Ukrainian troops in August last year and also visited this week. The Ukraine, on the other hand, accused Putin lies; President Wolodyymyr Senskyj said several times that his troops still held positions in the Kursk area and in the neighboring Belgorod region. This is done to protect Ukrainian cities Sumy and Charkiw.

Ukrainian military observers in the Russian area of Kursk actually register a few square kilometers of land under control KIEV troops – it is the rest of the rise on the enemy country from the summer of 2024.

Kremlin Chief Orders Regions Reconstruction
Putin also ordered an extensive program to work out to initiate the reconstruction of the border regions that are affected by fighting. In addition to the areas Kursk and Belgorod, it is also about the Brjansk region. The regions close to the border are under the shelling of the Ukrainian side, which mainly uses drones. At the same time, the Kremlin covers large parts of Ukraine with air strikes.

Senskyj had justified the attacks on Russian territory with the fact that Kiev was able to bring himself in a better position in future negotiations on the regulation of the conflict. Russia recently stated that Kiev failed with the plan to put Moscow under pressure in this way.

Senskyj said in his message that the planned prisoner would be further prepared. Ukraine and Russia had agreed last week about discussions in Istanbul to release 1,000 prisoners of war.
