Salzburg’s Green Hook for the Governors Conference in Leogang: How high are the costs for taxpayers? Does the governor want to treat himself to the counterpart again at the end?
The fact that the Austrian governors will hold their meeting on 6 June about upcoming savings in the luxury Hotel Krallerhof in Leogang.
Not only among the population – these meet future savings, including tax increases – but also with political colleagues, it causes a shock of the head. The Greens Salzburg now want to know exactly and ask an investigation into the exact costs in the State Parliament. “We ask for clarification. In this situation, driving in a luxury hotel is uncomfortable and symbolic,” says MP Simon Heilig-Hofbauer (Greens) and puts it on: “It gives the impression that Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) wants to give himself a good time.”
The request must make the actual costs public
As is known, the head of the state hands over his office to Karoline Edtstadler in July. It is therefore his last official performance in the group of governors.
Incidentally, the Greens want to know exactly on the request: how many rooms? In which category? At what price? Which services are included? What are the costs of the seminar rooms? And much more. “Then we will see whether the currently specified costs also match the truth,” said the Greens politician.
According to the Haslauer office, the costs for a room may only be 140 to 250 euros, which would indicate a strong discount. The rooms in the Leoganger Hotel usually cost up to 370 euros.
