The number of asylum applications fell by 35 percent in the first year of the year. This shows the asylum statistics for April. According to this, 6056 asylum seekers were provided in the first four months. In the comparison period of the previous year it was 9259. It is noticeable that the number of applications is particularly low. This means that most applicants have been in the country for a long time or have just been born here.
From 329 requested from Syrians in April were only 103 new. The majority of applications born in Austria concerned the refugees. The situation is similar to Afghans. 512 applications were made here, of which only 117 were new. The rest are followed -requests for children born in Austria.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, a decision of the ECJ remains an individual procedure for Afghan women. That is why female beneficiaries in Austria do applications for asylum if only the protection of the subsidiary has been granted.
Only 138 Access to family judges
There will probably be no exuberant effects on the figures the planned temporary stop of the family reunification for the first time. In April there were only 138 access under this title. It should be noted that since the power change in Damascus, proposals from Syrians have only been decided in exceptional cases.
In general, Austria is no longer influenced by asylum applications. If you calculate per head of the population, you are in tenth place in the EU. If you take all of Europe, asylum searches so far have fallen by 22 percent this year. There was only a plus in Poland, Croatia, Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
More than half of the asylum seekers are younger than 18
With regard to the asylum seekers in Austria, it is striking that just over half is a minor. About a third falls in the group of 0 to 3 -year -olds. Only one fifth of the asylum seekers is 35 years or older. The gender distribution is now considerably balanced. In April there were 45 percent of women’s request. In earlier years the share of men was much higher.
Until now, a protective title has been awarded in a good 4000 cases. Asylum has been awarded 2972 times, 621 times of daughter protection, the rest is distributed over a humanitarian residence permit.
Compared to the last month, good 2,000 places have reduced again, the occupation of basic care, which currently costs just over 63,000 people. 55 percent of the cared people are war people from Ukraine.
