The Socialist Party (PSOE) by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has held a fierce campaign against prostitution and women’s rights in the past. Just stupid that high -ranking party members are now the focus of a sex scandal …
Sánchez now wants to take over: members who benefit from prostitutes will be excluded in the future of the party, said it in an urgent message on Saturday. A few days ago the PSOE Secretary -General Santos Cerdán was arrested and resigned in the course of a scandal about lubrication and prostitute.
The search for and the use of sex against payment will be punished in the future “with the highest possible punishment, that is, the party exclusion,” said the PSOE after a meeting of the party council in Madrid. “If we assume that the body of a woman is not for sale, there can be no room in our party for the opposite behavior,” said party and government leader Sánchez.
Further top -class players step back
The meeting of the party on Saturday had started with delay because a close by the government, Francisco Salazar, had submitted his resignation. Salazar should have been chosen at the party manager. According to the news website of EldDiario, several female party members had accused him of “inappropriate behavior” as their superior in his time.
The socialist party is currently passing “difficult days”, Sánchez admitted in a speech from the party council and again asked for a forgiveness that he had trusted those suspected of corruption. Comrade Sánchez concluded: “The captain does not work if there are problems. He continues to face the storm,” he emphasized.
Former transport Minister José Luis ábalos is also involved in the corruption scandal around Cerdán. Both had contributed considerably to the promotion of Sánchez to the party leader. The revelations caused the largest political crisis in Sánchez.
The largest opposition party, the conservative PP, held a special party conference in a euphoric mood with a view to the problems at PSOE on Saturday. “We are the only possible alternative to this decadence,” said party leader Núñez Feijóo in a speech for the delegates.
