From August, US President Trump announces a punitive rates of 35 percent of Canadian goods. At the same time, he warns the northern neighbor to raise against -tariffs. The European Union threatens the taxes of 15 or 20 percent.
“From 1 August we will increase the rates of 35 percent for Canadian products delivered to the US,” Trump wrote in a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, whom he published on his online Platform Truth Social. If this does the same for him, he will increase the rates, he threatened.
Not every country receives a letter
“We will simply say that all other countries will pay or there are 20 or 15 percent,” Trump said in an interview with the Omroep NBC News. “We will train now.” Not everyone needs to get a letter, Trump continued. “We just define our rates.”
Trump has expanded his trade war in recent days. He imposed new rates against the Allies Japan and South Korea, as well as an inch of 50 percent on copper. Brazil has also received a letter: the South American country is occupied by an inch of 50 percent.
