The ministries from the ranks of the ruling parties ÖVP and Greens are currently doing very little in terms of legislation. The Social Democrats complain about “standstill”.
A look at the ministerial legislative initiatives currently in the House of Representatives shows that the government is in trouble, with only a handful of projects that is unusually few. Currently, only three turquoise green projects are included under the so-called “pre-parliamentary review procedures” – from all departments.
“In normal times, the government has to put about 20 projects in ‘pipeline'” have”
In addition to two smaller suggestions, it concerns the recently presented “order principle” for brokerage commissions, so that tenants no longer have to pay them. According to the parliamentary website, there are also two more bills that have not yet been approved by the National Council. In “normal times”, the SPÖ criticizes, a government should have about twenty projects in the “pipeline”.
“Apparently, the turquoise-green government has stopped work,” said SPÖ deputy club leader Jörg Leichtfried (SPÖ), calling again for new elections. Leichtfried recalls the anti-corruption package promised for the first quarter that other announcements, such as the change in the implementation of measures, are also behind schedule – not to mention the pending climate protection law.
