Two soccer players from Africa Vyborg they will be left unable to play in the first leg of Conference League in front of West Ham due to the measures implemented in England after Brexit.
Ibrahim saidfrom Nigeria, and Alassana Jatta, from Gambia, will miss out after their club failed to secure visas for both of them before the team traveled to London. “We tried everything and contacted the Danish football federation (DBU), UEFA, the two teams and another foreign club in a similar situation,” explained the Vyborg in a statement, adding that “unfortunately this has become impossible, as there is a processing time of several weeks and the match was scheduled only a week ago.”
The Danish team qualified for the round by eliminating B36 last week, so they have no margin. “It’s a shame from a sporting point of view, because both players will play in the game,” said Jesper Fredberg, the club’s sporting director, who showed his anger by stressing that “it’s more of a shame from a human perspective that these two players are missing out on this great experience”.
