“When I terminated my contract with Athletic I realized that I had to stop, especially mentally. I lost the illusion for football”. The Bilbao striker, who after leaving the red-and-white club played in Iran, clarified that “after a few hours of recovery, I felt that illusion again, my idea was to leave. There (in Iran) I realized that from my way of looking at football, the feeling is united and I need a place where that happens. Dépor is the perfect place to return to a high level”.
After clarifying that “my rings are not falling off” for playing in the First RFEF, Ibai indicated that “I contacted the club. I am very excited about it. I talked to my people and I thought about it the perfect place to reappear. If I didn’t prepare myself, I wouldn’t accept any option. Age is a number, I feel very energetic. I’d rather talk about it on the pitch than say it in words ,” he added.
