Jon Uriarte, president of Athletic, explained today that the agreement reached with PSG by Herrera consists of “a loan for one year with an executable option on the part of our club to acquire Ander’s rights for the next one. The goal is to have us for at least two seasons. No transfer, no transfer fee, and no future transfer payment whatsoever”.
The head of the Ibaigane entity emphasized that “we are paying the share that corresponds to us for the next two seasons of Ander. His signing in any case damages Athletic’s salary. a cost that we can bear. And more moreover we have also agreed that a part of the compensation is linked to the objectives”.
Uriarte also insisted that “the purchase option can be carried out unilaterally by Athletic and no one else needs to negotiate with PSG. Our intention is for Ander to stay for at least two seasons”.
