Lawrence and Wallace finished the tournament tied at 262 shots (18 under par), after the fourth and final rounds in which they posted 69 and 66 hits, respectively.
They then had to play a tiebreaker which was decided in favor of the player from Nelspruit, who made par on the extra hole, playing the par 4 18th, due to a bogey from the Englishman.
Thriston Lawrence, 25, made his debut on the circuit last year by winning the Johannesburg Open, which was played at the end of November and belongs to the current 2021/2022 season. This year he played his first ‘major’ at the British Open, where he was forty seconds.
Two strokes from Lawrence and Wallace also finished in English Richard Mansell. Three were made by the trio formed by the Spaniards George Campillo, Frenchman Antoine Rozner and Scotsman Scott Jamieson.
Alexander Canizares He finished fourth with the German Marcek Schneider, with whom he shared seventh place. Nacho Elvira and Adri Arnaus they completed the tournament five shots behind the winner.
