Official: Willian, back to the Premier

Date:

Willian is back in the Premier: the Chelsea and Arsenal winger signed on Thursday for one season for Fulham. The Brazilian player is without a team after terminating his contract with Corinthians by mutual agreement, after receiving “death threats”, in Willian’s own words.

Willian said last month: “Every time Corinthians lost and I didn’t have a good performance, my family received threats on social networks. First my wife and my daughters. Then my father, my sister…”. The winger trained at Corinthians, where he returned in 2021.

});

Willian, who played in the 2014 Brazil and 2018 Russia World Cups with the Brazilian team, returns to his home country in 2021 after 14 seasons abroad. He played for Ukrainian Shakhtar Donetsk and Russian Anzi before moving to the Premier.

“I’m happy to be back in the Premier League. Fulham is a special club that wants to progress, fight for good things, and I’ll try to help,” Willian said. At Chelsea, the winger won two Premiers (2015 and 2017), an FA Cup and a League Cup and a Europa League.
