Carlos Sainz enjoyed the first day of Formula 1 Netherlands GP after completing a positive day, without problems, in a Ferrari that seems to perfectly fit the characteristics of Zandvoort, high load circuit. Waiting to find out if red bull can improve and fight for everything this Saturday after his poor results on the first day of work at the Dutch track, Carlos is positive and believes that “everything will be close”.
The Spaniard finished second in Free Practice 2, just 4 thousandths behind Leclerc and set a time ahead of the Monegasque, who has the dirtiest track. The rider from Madrid is looking for his third pole this Saturday after achievements at Silverstone and last week at Spa-Francorchamps and wants to fight for what would be his second win on Sunday.
“Overall, it was a good Friday in Zandvoort. Going back to such a demanding circuit for the drivers and the cars has been fantastic and I have enjoyed it a lot”, commented Carlos Sainz in statements on his personal website.
“In terms of performance, it was a clean Friday and we completed the work plan without any problems, both the long and short run,” added the Spanish driver, who does not trust Red Bull: “It looks like it’s going to be close to our closest rivals, so all the speed we see tonight will help in qualifying.”
