Gooch was the most solid in Boston, with eight birdies for one bogey, while Wolf qualified his three bogeys with two brilliant eagles and six birdies.
Eugenio López Chacarra is the best Spaniard with a card of 66 hitstwo under par, while his compatriot Sergio García signed the pair.
Mexicans Abraham Ancer and Carlos Ortiz finished the first day with one under par (69 shots).
Cameron Smith, the highest-ranked player in the world ranking (2) competing in an LIV tournament, also made his debut on Friday with a card of 64 strokes, six under par.
The recent British Open winner boasts eight professional titles, including The Players Championship earlier this year.
