Feyenoord and Slavia Prague opened the Conference League quarterfinals with a quick clash at De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam that left the board for the second leg after an amazing 3-3 show by the scoreboard.
The meeting had many alternatives. Feyenoord took the lead in the 10th minute through Colombian winger Luis Sinistierra in a counterattack. The Dutch continued to dominate and were able to extend the lead but Orkun Kökcï hit the crossbar (19 ‘) and goalkeeper Ondrej Kolar used his reflexes to prevent Sinisterra from scoring again (30’).
But Slavia Prague balanced the forces and equalized shortly before half-time with a goal from their captain, Nigerian Peter Olayinka (41 ‘), after receiving the offside limit due to local protests.
Already in the second half, Slavia advanced thanks to the victory of another Nigerian, Yira Sor, after fleeing alone (67 ‘). This is his sixth goal in the competition.
The party still has many chapters to write. Argentine central defender Marcos Senesi, a quarter of an hour from the end, made it 2-2 by finishing with a cross with his chest (74 ‘) and Turkish Orkun Kökçü, launching a free kick past the goalkeeper. Ondřej Kolář, appeared to give Feyenoord the win in the 86th minute.
However, Ivorian Ibrahim Traoré established the final 3-3 with a heel shot to a loose ball after a corner in the fifth minute of extra time.
