The British Mr. Faraha quadruple Olympic champion, returned to action after several months off with a victory in the half marathon in Londonwhere Eilish McColgan broke the test record in the women’s category.
Farah, who lost the last race in which he participated in May, added his third victory in the race in the capital with a time of 1h01:49, a level competition for the next London marathon, which will be held in October and where he would also return three years later.
“It’s good to be back. I love this circuit. It wasn’t easy, but the most important thing is the victory. The key was to try to win no matter what. It was all a preparation for the London marathon. I’ I’m excited and there’s a winner,” he said.
Farah was ahead of British Jack Rowe (1:02:04) and Jake Smith (1:02:10) at the finish line.
McColgan won the women’s event in 1h07:35, significantly lowering the previous record (1h09:51) and extending her state of grace after winning Commonwealth Games gold for Scotland in the 10,000m, as well as other podiums finishes. European level, and continental records of 10 kilometers and British half marathon on the road.
