The facts

Schiappacasse was arrested Jan. 26 in a police investigation conducted on one of the major national routes where a 9-millimeter gun was seized from him.

Two days after that event, despite the fact that the prosecutor requested 120 days of preventive detention as a precautionary measure, the Uruguayan Justice ordered 90 days of preventive detention for the athlete for illegal possession of a firearm in addition to other cases.
