Alex Albon will not participate in the 2022 F1 Italian GP after an attack of appendicitis for which he had to undergo surgery. For this reason, Williams had to take in his emergency car Nyck De Vries, a driver belonging to Mercedes and whom Toto Wolff wants to put in the same seat for this year in F1 after winning the Formula title E last year.
So De Vries will experience his F1 debut, not in the way he dreamed of, but it will be part of his resume.
All this, after Thai Albon was operated on, something that he himself communicated on his social networks.
“Appendicitis, surgery and not running is not what I was looking forward to this weekend!” he pointed out.
