Thomas Tuchel said this Sunday on Twitter, in a farewell text, that he felt devastated after being dismissed by Chelsea on Wednesday after a poor start to the season. “This is one of the most difficult texts I have written in years.. It hurts that my time at Chelsea is over, it feels like home.”

The German coach added with emotion: “The pride and joy I felt in helping to win the Champions League stays with me forever. I am proud to have been a part of this club’s history and the memories of these 19 months will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Tuchel arrived at Chelsea in January 2021 to replace Frank Lampard and in the same season under his leadership the Stamford Bridge team won the second Champions League in its history after beating Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 0-1 in the final.
He was dismissed after a 1-0 defeat at the start of the Champions League against Dinamo Zagreb and replaced by Graham Potter.
