Jürgen Klopp, manager of Liverpool, scoffed at the idea of American Todd Boehly, new owner of Chelsea, to play a game that brings together the best players in the Premier League, as an All-Star Game.
“He’s not shy, he won’t wait long”, Klopp said in reference to Boehly and his All Star project.”When he finds a date for this game, he will call me,” laughed the ‘reds’ coach about the departure of Chelsea’s new owner.
Klopp also said about the All Star that Boehly wants to make happen: “I’m not sure people want to see the players together. Manchester United, Liverpool, (Manchester) City, Everton. It’s not a choice.”
The Liverpool manager even wondered about the Premier League game: “Did he say that? Do you also want to bring the Harlem Globetrotters and have them play a football team?“.
B.Oehly, who has owned Chelsea since May and owns shares in the Los Angeles Dodgers (baseball) and the Lakers (basketball), the idea came Tuesday from a forum organized in New York by the SALT organization. He also wants Chelsea to control some teams in Europe like Manchester City does.
