Jesse Marsch, manager of Leeds, was suspended for one game and fined 10,000 pounds (11,500 euros) for his altercation with the fourth official in the Premier League game his team lost on September 3 against Brentford (5-two ).
Marsch was sent off in the second half of the defeat for protesting at the fourth official after Leeds were not awarded a penalty. The American coach later accused the refereeing team of “disrespect”.
“The manager admitted that his language and behavior in the 64th minute of that match was inappropriate,” the FA said in its statement.
Marsch will not give his sanction this Sunday as Manchester United-Leeds is suspended, as was the match against Nottingham the day before, due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The next match for the ‘whites’, ranked ninth in the Premier, is on October 2 at Elland Road against Aston Villa.
