Andre Agassi joins in praising Roger Federer

The American Andrew Agassi emphasizes the style of play and spirit that led to the top of tennis in Roger Federerwho on Thursday announced the date of his retirement from the professional circuit, at the Laver Cup in London next week.

Agassi, one of the most famous players this sport has given, who became number one in the world in 1995 and has all the Grand Slam titles, took advantage of social networks to highlight the legacy left by Federer, if where he faced eleven times.

“Your game and spirit taught us how beautiful it is to play tennis, Roger Federer. Every moment you shared left us all better. Thank you RF”, indicates the American.

Agassi and Federer have met on court eleven times. The first three were won by the former Las Vegas player and the next eight by the Swiss, including their last meeting: in the 2005 US Open final.

Federer closed his career with twenty Grand Slam titles. Agassi, now 52 years old, has won eight: four Australian Opens (1995, 2000, 2001 and 2003), two United States Opens (1994 and 1999), one Roland Garros (1999) and one Wimbledon (1992). In addition, he was Olympic champion in Atalanta 1996.
