Erling Haaland, forward of Manchester City, was selected as the best player in the Premier League for the month of August. The Norwegian completed a historic month, with nine goals in five games, breaking the record for most goals in his first five league games, previously held by Sergio Agüero and Mick Quinn.
Haaland, who scored two consecutive hat tricksis the first footballer to win the best player award in his first month in the competition since Bruno Fernandes did it in February 2020. The former Borussia Dortmund striker beat Pascal Gross, Gabriel Jesús, Aleksandar Mitrovic , Martin Odegaard, Nick Pope, Rodrigo and Wilfried Zaha.
On the other hand, Mikel was chosen as the best coach of August as a result of his Arsenal’s excellent start in the Premier, with five consecutive wins. He beat Antonio Conte, Pep Guardiola, Graham Potter and Marco Silva.
