Today Cliftonville President Paddy McLaughlin has been named Aktivora March Director.
McLaughlin led Cliftonville to glory in the BetMcLean League Cup last month, thanks to a memorable 4-3 overtime win over Collier at Windsor Park.
The Reds, who are a point behind Linfield at the top of the Premier League for Danske Bank, also maintained the title challenge with decisive victories over Glentoran, Glenavon and Dungannon Swift.
McLaughlin said: “Although my name is in the cup, this award is for the entire team.
“The mentality and character we showed in March was great and now the challenge is to continue until the end of the season.
“I think the consistency we have shown this season may surprise a lot of people.
“The players were tough and it’s up to us to keep him until the last shot of the campaign ball.”
Cliftonville meets leader Linfield, who is chasing his fourth consecutive title, in a massive showdown between the two top-ranked poles tomorrow in the first five games after the split at Solitude.
“It’s a huge game and a great three-point show, but it doesn’t define where the championship ends,” McLaughlin said.
The last time Cliftonville won the Gibson Cup under the late Tommy Breslin was in 2013 and 2014.
